What distinguishes what's alive from what's dead is growth, be it in plants or in you. --Wayne W. Dyer |

No art or entertainment, no intellectual endeavor, no daily event can compare to the fascination of coming to realize the nature of your own mind, to the exhilaration of eliminating the fears you held, the illness that plagued you, the pain you experienced, physical and emotional. In The Essence of Reality, Tom presents you with a tool to use to gain peace and freedom, and to vastly improve your life. Illustrating life from Four Angles, Tom will pull from a wide array of his unique perspectives: Angle One: How Life Works. Here the illusory nature to common notions is exposed by pointing out the artificiality to most cultural “truths”. Tom illustrates the real flow: a stream encountered in this Now moment, always containing meaning drawn from within. Angle Two: Your Journey. Simple techniques for delving within – self-hypnosis, meditation, ideomotor responses, dream analysis – are explored as means to find inner causes to outer problems. Tom will illustrate explicit mechanisms by which each listener weaves struggle and conflict into daily life, and show how, once undesirable effects have been fully clarified, to change them. Angle Three: Your Path. Many hazards, often subtle, litter the inner path. Tom looks at many common effects of supposedly enlightened truths and how to avoid falling for them. Angle Four: Other Teachings. Based on The Essence of Reality’s in-depth look at the Oneness, Tom reflects on core notions of western culture, showing their limiting effects and negative influences on one’s life. He will examine various healing practices and spiritual disciplines to expose any fallacious underlying tenets. And he looks in depth at earlier teachings of other visionaries – showing value and shortcomings as mystics and philosophers of old saw and depicted the real flow, or significantly, where they fell short or had their messages distorted by time and translation. Author's Background: Questioning cultural “truths” of small-town Middle-America, Tom jettisoned religion early in childhood. In his early twenties, he left engineering to travel widely, seeking to understand more about life. His mystic experience on Corfu – during which he clearly perceived that he wasn’t a separate entity sensing remote objects, but a “Oneness” experiencing itself from within its own essence – shattered his residual scientific adherence. Always sensitive that concepts regarding life correspond to experiential Reality, Tom explored many disciplines, philosophies and teachings – absorbing valued perspectives, but never bowing to self-aggrandized masters, popular myth or single-explanation truths. Giving psychic readings for a time in his thirties, he gained direct exposure to the realm of meaning and value that underlies the Real. But only his long inner journey, penetrating into all facets of his own mindset – its innate values and distinct mechanisms of realizing them – could restore the immediate awareness he’d experienced on Corfu. Perfecting self-hypnosis and meditation technique, Tom undertook to clear away all limiting definitions and beliefs absorbed from cultural input during his childhood. He came, step-by-step, to see life without the limiting haze of a belief structure. Using exacting focus, he relieved outer manifestations of inner health, abundance and relationship issues by eliminating them at their inner roots. During the process of inner change, Tom regained “Clear Awareness” – but now as an ongoing capacity, not a fleeting glimpse. _____________________________________________________________________________ |
